I have done a little more editing of the General page down to W.E.H. Lecky's History of the Riseand the Influence of the Spirit of Rationalism (1865).
It strikes me that there is scope for a further detailed chronological historiography of witchcraft in the major European languages to complement Palgrave Advances in Witchcraft Historiography (2007), edited by Jonathan Barry and Owen Davies. Where that volume looks at major debates and advances, mostly within the academy, another is needed on the relationship between the scholarly and the popular.

Update: General section
I have uploaded a further version of the General section. It is only a short update to "Ha" because of the numerous errors and omissions which I have had to correct. If I can't locate a text using the bibliography, then it's not much use to anyone else! There are also a significant number of items which have had to be deleted because they say nothing about the history of witchcraft. This does not mean, however, that they are not worth reading.
